More mobile phone debating

A few mobile phone requirements I’d like to see wrapped into 1 device:

1. Excellent 3G coverage
2. A good real qwerty keyboard
3. Sexy
4. 3rd Party apps
5. camera w/ flash
6. Real web browser
7. Configurable UI
8. Under 5oz

Doable? I think so.

We’re gonna need Verizon to build something to hit requirement #1, “More bars in more places” - bullshit.

We’re gonna need blackberry to build something because they understand keyboards

We’re gonna need some apple folks to help with the sexy and OS parts.

We’re gonna need some android help for the openness and 3rd party apps (I’d say iPhone but the platform is too limited)

So, I need an iBlackroid!

• AT&T 3G is a joke. It’s slow and very sparse.
• The blackberry storm’s “one big click pad” = FAIL.
• TMobile G1 keyboard sucks too
• iPhone keyboard is also in the suck pile
• Conclusion, if you want fast 3G on a phone with a decent keyboard, your screwed. Nice work mobile industry. Keep sucking, we like that.

Clearly drive erradically just to mess with passengers. It’s an unenjoyable ride to say the least.

I am an elitist...

If you dress like you don’t care or even worse like you don’t have a clue what fashion is you don’t get to make any decisions about aesthetics. You just don’t. You may have a doctorate in color theory, I don’t care. If you didn’t take the time to learn about trends and how they should impact the things you put on yourself, you FAIL. Go home. Try outs same time next year.

People say fashion/design/etc. is subjective. It’s really not. Good design is very obviously different from bad design and nearly anyone can see the difference. It gets fuzzy in the details between pretty good and good or between awful and shitty. But lets be clear, I know what good design is, I know what good fashion is, I know what makes the world go around in terms of aesthetics, I rule a righteous world. It’s black and white. Grey is for the birds. Piss off grey, you suck, you non-committal pile of “sorta”.

Career fulfillment

Over the last few weeks talking with differnet folks I’ve gather that I need one of three things in my job:

1. Faith in the leader of the company or department.

2. Faith in the idea - the end goal of the product.

3. To be the leader.

Let me explain:

I will follow a good leader into battle and trust them if they have proven themselves a good leader. I will also help a mediocre leader follow through on a great idea. Lastly, I will take the lead and do my best to make the right decisions on the behalf of the company and it’s employees. Without one of these options, I cannot be successful.
