Zvents for Facebook
2011
Product Management, Interaction Design, Visual Design
This is a set of designs for the Zvents Facebook App.
- I initially joined Zvents to manage their Facebook strategy and have continued work on the application to maintain, improve, and adapt it to Facebook's ever changing landscape. I wear many hats on this project, product manager, interaction designer, visual designer, and Facebook platform specialist.
- This is a mock up of where we're headed with our homepage. We wanted to combine events from many different sources to provide our users with a dashboard of what's going on. We wanted them to be able to view things their friends were doing in addition to fun things Zvents could offer so they can decide what to do each day/night.

- This is a mock up of an event detail page. This page was the heart of our traffic and we wanted the experience to be about gathering event information and then sharing. Our main focus of the app was trying to make events go viral using the Facebook platform and sharing tools. Another thing we did a ton of thinking and versions of is the event to event recommendations. The right rail was a custom algorithm that analyzed the event detail content and showed the user events that were similar. This was the secondary action we wanted to drive from event detail pages - secondary clicks to other events.

- This is a spec of the performer detail page showing the performers description, upcoming shows, and Facebook Page newsfeed. We used the Facebook API's and did an analysis to match up performer Facebook Pages with the performers in our system which worked quite well.

- This is a spec for a Venue page that shows the upcoming shows at the venue as well as imported the newsfeed for the appropriate Facebook Page for the Venue if there was one. We did some pretty cool fetching and analyzing of Facebook Pages to match up the right page with the right Venue in our system

- This is the faceted search results page to help users dive further into the category they're looking for. Events, Venues, and Performers. We found this to be more effective than the normal search results which ranked each one individually and blended them.

- This is the user preferences page for the application that allowed users to adjust how often we communicate with them about upcoming events as well as edit their follow list.

- This is a concept we were playing with the intent of having an event ticket contest facilitated through the Facebook application. Below is a mid-level concept flow and mocks.
