Mock up of the Zvents Top40 site.
- Zvents
Discover things to do. - Top40.zvents.com was a experimental project where we played with different ways to look at our data and created a few different user experiences based on it. Part of the project was cleaning up and editing algorithms to make the content the most compelling and another part was just making sure to stick to our simple goal of showing users what's popular right now in their city. I was the product manager and designer on this project.
- Below is the final mock of the top40 site. The grey bar with ranking details and partners is dynamic, it pulls from the Quantcast page and the partner logos are chosen based on the city selected from the header menu. We also do IP detection to place the user is the closest city we offer the Top40 in. The bulk of the work on this project was working with the existing system to get the most compelling data out. We spent a substantial amount of time editing the algorithms to get them just right. It was surprisingly complex project for being such a simple site.
